Cause analysis of smoke and dust in induction furnace

Time:2021-02-25   Nums:3155

At present, the charge used in induction furnace is mostly recycled charge and waste miscellaneous material, and the proportion of oil and oxide in the waste is high. The melting process of medium frequency induction furnace is different from that of electric arc steelmaking furnace, converter and open hearth furnace, which produces a large amount of flue gas and high concentration dust through the chemical reaction between molten iron oxidation slag. Scrap contains dust, oxide particles, residual oil and other substances. These substances will float and burst with the hot air flow and bubbles generated by molten steel in the melting process of medium frequency induction furnace. In the process of electromagnetic stirring and liquid steel dumping, some residual oil and oxide substances in scrap emit a large amount of flue gas. At this time, the dust concentration and exhaust temperature are very high. In addition, the emission of flue gas and smoke in each stage is also changing. The flue gas also contains small particles such as iron oxide dust, manganese oxide, silicon oxide dust and other oxides. There are many reasons for the formation of dust in induction smelting furnace. The main influencing factors are the composition of furnace charge, quality and metallurgical process.
