Stainless steel melting process in induction melting furnace

Time:2021-03-19   Nums:3152

Smelting furnace will melt solid metal charge into liquid alloy with certain composition and temperature. This work is called smelting. There are many types of furnaces for melting metals, such as cupola, induction furnace, etc. In the past, cupola was the most widely used furnace for melting cast iron. Now induction furnace is more and more used.

The wall of the cupola is made of refractory material and surrounded by a steel shell. Metal charge and coke are added into the furnace from the feeding port in batches according to a certain proportion. The air from the blower enters the furnace through the air box and air inlet at the lower part of the furnace body. The heat released by the combustion of coke melts the metal charge. Molten iron is stored at the bottom of the furnace or in front of the furnace. When a certain amount of molten iron is accumulated, the mud plug in the taphole is chiseled off, and the molten iron flows out and flows into the ladle through the taphole.

In smelting work, it is necessary to control the composition and temperature of metal concentration, otherwise it will produce batches of waste products.
